About 30 people following the direction of Marnie Ferreira let their creative side run wild at the Rotaract hosted Paint Night on Thursday, March 22nd at the Osprey Links Clubhouse.
It was a great night and a nice venue with the sun still shining as the budding artists started the work on their art.
Attention to detail.
Friends shared their expertise.
While exploring new techniques of putting paint to canvas.
Discussing the arts scene in Callander?
Rotarian Bonnie with her partially finished masterpiece will be donating it to a Salvation Army auction raising money for mission work in a developing nation.
But the real winner was Rotary4Kids, who received more than $450. from the proceeds of the evening. Thanks to everyone for attending and thanks to the Rotaract Club North Bay – Nipssing for supporting Rotary4Kids.
Today, we kicked off Rotary4Kids and Kevin’s Longest Morning with a media conference at One Kid’s Place. Speaking were Rotary President Chuck Verge, KISS 100.5 Personality, Kevin Oschefski, Nipissing Association for Disabled Youth President, Jim Stewart and our own Rotary4Kids Ambassador, JayLyne.
Kevin’s Longest Morning will be on the air, broadcasting from Northgate Shopping Centre starting at 5 AM on Wednesday, March 28th, and remaining live for 29 hours as he raises money for Rotary4Kids.
During these hours we will hear from a number of special children and their families and learn what impact money raised through Kevin’s Longest Morning and Rotary4Kids has had on their lives.
Fair question. You donate to a charity and you wonder, where does my money go?
In the case of Rotary4Kids, you will be pleased to know that it stays right here in the North Bay and surrounding area supporting area children with special needs.
In some cases, that money is directed to other agencies, like the Nipissing Association for Disabled Youth (www.nady.ca), who we are supporting as they raise money to replace their aging van, plus an additional contribution to support their summer recreation program. In other cases, money goes direct to a child’s need, as we we work extensively with medical professionals throughout the region who identify and recommend support and methodology.
But rest assured, when you contribute to Rotary4Kids, you are helping Rotary help kids!
Help www.rotary4kids.ca. You can donate on-line now, and don’t forget, Kevin’s Longest Morning will be on the air, broadcasting live on KISS 100.5 from Northgate Shopping Centre Wednesday, March 28th and 29th, raising money for Rotary4Kids.
Share this with your friends, they'll be glad you did.
